SMVT eddy current magnetic separators are designed to recover nonferrous inclusions from non-conducting materials.
Material is fed on the separator’s vibratory feeder where it is uniformly transported to the belt conveyor, which drive drum contains integrated magnetic rotor (conveyor and magnetic rotor are activated by separate drives). When the material flows on the drive drum surface in a close proximity to the magnetic rotor rotated at high speed, electromotive force is activated by alternate magnetic rotor field in nonferrous inclusions and eddy currents occur. As a result of interaction of magnetic fields created by eddy currents with the rotor’s magnetic field, the trajectory of nonferrous metals inclusions is changed – they are “thrown away” from the non-conducting flow and discharged into a separate outlet of the separator.
SMVT eddy current separators are actively applied both in recycling facilities and enterprises, using own or purchased secondary raw material – steel works, glass factories, etc.
Strong-magnetic inclusions should be removed from separation materials before eddy current magnetic separators. SMPR and SMPA suspended guard magnets, SMB pulley guard magnets or compact BSM drum separators are traditionally applied for this purpose.
